UK police say Maltese man’s death was not suspicious

Surrey Police say it was not treating the death of Maltese born Emanuel Penza in Normandy as suspicious.

The body of 51 year-old Maltese born Emmanuel Penza was discovered in Normandy last Monday after he was reported missing the day before.

Police had been alerted by his family after Penza failed to return home from work on Sunday evening. Wife Rose, 50, who was married to 'Manny' for 31 years and had known him since they were teenagers

Manny, lived with Rose and his Maltese mother Sylvia in their Codrington Court house. He had two sons - Tony and George - and three grandchildren with another due to be born this month.

Described to be an avid 'Doctor Who' fan Manny had worked at  Surrey's Spectrum leisure centre since 2001 and ran the housekeeping team alongside his wife. Popular at work, Manny felt most at home with his family surrounded by his gadgets and sci-fi memorabilia, including a shed full of Daleks.

Surrey Police said it was not treating the death as suspicious and has referred it to the coroner's office.
