John Grima, 66 of St Julian's faced the wrath of Jude Michael Mallia this evening who described him as a "merchant of death" as he jailed him for 15 years and fined him €30,000 after jurors found him guilty of importing one kilogramme of cocaine from Amsterdam in 2006.

When handing down his sentence, Mr. Justice Mallia said that the court "felt no mercy" towards the accused and said that he was jailing Grima "in the name of so many parents who have suffered the consequences of the actions from people like you."

Jurors returned a 6-3 guilty verdict on all three charges he was accused of.

He was found guiltyof importing  one kilogramme of cocaine and 20 grammes of cannabis in January 2006 from the Netherlands.

Grima who was defended by Dr Joe Brincat, was discovered with the drugs concealed inside ornamental  candles on his arrival at Malta International Airport from Amsterdam.

Even more mercy was thrown at Ms Cachia, Menrard sister. They are all running around enjoying the millions they made even though they were catch red handed. Well i suppose being related to Austin does have its advantages.

The Judges showed plenty of compassion when it came to condemning one of their own for accepting bribes from a drug dealer. Well - the minute our legal establishment runs out of money from gambling and money laundering, we will probably turn Malta into little Amsterdam anyways!
