Polish diver dies in Cirkewwa

A 27-year-old Polish man died this afternoon after finding himself in difficulty while diving in Cirkewwa, police said.

Friends gave the man initial medical assistance before a medical team joined in the rescue effort. The man was conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital but attempts to revive him were all in vain.

He was certified dead at 12:45. 

Police investigations are ongoing while an inquiry is underway.
