Motorcyclist injured by bricks falling from truck

A 23-year-old Attard man has been injured in a freak accident that took place in Hal Far Road, Hal Far this afternoon.

The motorcyclist, the fifth to be injured this week, was hospitalised after bricks from a truck fell on top of him as the truck turned a corner.

The truck was being driven by a 57-year-old man, resident of Birzebbugia.

The accident took place at about 1:00pm.

The civil protection department, police and paramedics were on the scene to assist in the situation and give the man first aid.

Photos on local media show several bricks laying in pieces on the road, which has been closed to traffic.

The motorcyclist’s condition is not yet known.
