Man charged over stabbing in St. Julian's

Accused pleaded not guilty to attempted murder

A Sicilian man has been denied bail after being charged with the attempted murder of a co-national in an apartment in St. Julian’s last night.

22-year-old Daniele Vitale was arraigned before magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace this morning, accused of the attempted murder of Mirko Putile, causing him grievous bodily harm with a knife. He was also charged with breaching the peace.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri entered a not guilty plea on the man’s behalf.

Bail was denied as witnesses had not yet testified.
