Woman seriously injured after being hit by car

A 41-year-old Bulgarian national from Gzira was grievously hurt after she was run over by a car Wednesday afternoon.

The police said the incident happened at around 2.45pm in the vicinity of Malta International Airport in Luqa.

The woman was hit by a Toyota Avensis driver by a 69-year-old Birzebbuga resident.

An ambulance took the victim to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where her injuries were determined to be serious in nature.

Police investigations are ongoing.
