Unidentified person saved from sea near Exiles in Sliema

The person is currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.

An unidentified person was rescued from the sea near Exiles Beach in Tas-Sliema on Sunday afternoon, the police confirmed.

The police said in a statement that the district police were informed that a person had been seen at sea at roughly 2:45pm. 

A medial team from Mater Dei Hospital was dispatched to the site and took the person to the hospital for treatment.

The person was certified as having sustained serious injuries.

A magisterial inquiry has been launched as police investigations continue.
