How many foreign workers in Malta?

Replies to parliamentary questions show over 21,000 foreign nationals form part of the Maltese workforce

According to answers to PQs by the home affairs ministry, there are 9,670 EU citizens working in Malta and another 11,565 non-EU nationals working in Malta.

Filipino workers, at 893, form the largest non-EU group working in Malta.

They are followed by Chinese workers, 454, and Eritrean workers, 291.

From the EU, Malta's long-standing relationship with the British is clear: 1,937 are legal workers here, and then are closely followed by 1,543 Italian workers, and 878 Bulgarian workers.
