Voting documents started being delivered door-to-door by the police on Monday, an exercise that will continue until 15 May.

The Electoral Commission said voting documents will be delivered by the police daily from Monday 4 May until Friday 15 May between 8am and 1pm, and 3pm and 9pm.

All those whose name appears in the Electoral Register published on 1 May, subject to additions, deletions and corrections ordered by the Revising Officer, are eligible to vote in the election that will be held on Saturday 30 May.

The Electoral Commission said voting documents shall be delivered only at the address where the voter is registered. It is necessary that a responsible person over 16 years of age who is a relative, and/or resides or works at the place of residence is present to receive the voting document.

Persons receiving the voting document will be asked to confirm receipt by signing on a mobile device provided by the police officer.

Electoral law permits political party representatives to accompany the police officer during the delivery of voting documents. These representatives are supplied with an authorisation tag issued by the Electoral Commission, to be shown on demand.

The voting document is necessary to be able to vote on election day. Nobody will be allowed to vote without it on polling day.
