Marking the third time in which a Maltese team will be competing abroad after winning the competition in Malta, Mallia and Soler will be facing teams from the University of Cambridge, IE University, and University of Barcelona.

This comes after the students’ win at the Crime 101 Moot Court Competition organised by ELSA Malta. The competition, which simulates real-life courtroom proceedings allowing students to act as prosecution or defense, had over 32 other competing teams.

The competition in Madrid will follow a criminal trial by jury format.
