WT Global to appeal tribunal decision

WT Global will appeal the revocation of its operator’s licence.

On Tuesday, the Administrative Review Tribunal confirmed the 2025 revocation of Malta’s largest cab operator’s licence. Hours later, Transport Malta (TM) once again suspended its licence, saying that the original revocation originated after inspections conducted by itself, which revealed that WT Global was not genuinely using its declared garaging facilities to park LPTS vehicles while they were off duty.

In a statement on Wednesday, WT Global said it respects the tribunal’s decision and added that it will be urgently appealing the decision.

The company said it “it remains concerned that Transport Malta has proceeded with immediate enforcement despite the fact that, during the proceedings themselves, the company addressed and regularised the matters raised and continued operating under judicial authorisation.”

WT Global stressed that it took corrective action, regularised pending sites, removed contested parking facilities, and now has enough parking capacity to store its fleet.

“For this reason, the company struggles to understand why enforcement leading to the effective shutdown of operations is still being pursued in 2026 despite the company having achieved compliance during the course of the proceedings.”

The company said that it is committed to full regulatory compliance and will continue cooperating with authorities while pursuing its appeal.
