Foreign Affairs Minister Chris Fearne expressed Malta’s unequivocal opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians during a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa ahead of the Palestine Donor Group meeting.

Mustafa outlined the dire situation in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting the severe economic challenges facing Palestinians as a result of the ongoing conflict with Israel.

Fearne reiterated Malta’s longstanding support for Palestine, referring to its recognition of the State of Palestine in September 2025 and its continued backing for a two-state solution within both the United Nations and the European Union.

The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation, particularly through initiatives in the medical sector and cultural exchanges.

Mustafa concluded the meeting by calling on the EU to provide emergency support to help Palestine withstand the crisis caused by withheld revenues and banking restrictions.
