Malta records 1,606 domestic violence cases since 2021

A total of 1,606 domestic violence cases have been reported in Malta since 2021, according to information tabled in parliament.
The figures were provided by Justice Minister Clifton Grima in response to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP Graziella Attard Previ.
They show that 222 cases have been reported since the beginning of 2026.
The annual number of reported cases rose from 110 in 2021 to 124 in 2022 and 184 in 2023. This increased to 425 cases in 2024 and 541 in 2025.
