Malta police inspector graduates from FBI training academy

Inspector Elisia Scicluna of the Malta Police Corps has completed the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

She finished a ten-week intensive training programme alongside 265 law enforcement officers from around the world.

The experience gave Scicluna greater insight into how police bodies worldwide approach their work.

"Although we are a relatively small country and police force, we use many of the same tools, methodologies and approaches as law enforcement agencies worldwide," Scicluna said, noting that the course had reinforced this alignment with international practice.

The programme covered leadership, crime analysis, crisis negotiation and physical training.

Through the course, Scicluna also identified areas where the Malta Police Corps might continue to develop.

The Police Corps has commended Scicluna for her professional achievement and for representing the force at the international training initiative.
