Prime Minister Robert Abela announced ‘Malta Miegħek’ as the theme for the 2027 Budget.

Abela said the theme reflects the government’s commitment to helping Maltese and Gozitan families manage their bills, plan their futures with confidence, and raise their children in a country that offers opportunities.

The theme, he said, places families’ financial security, peace of mind and future opportunities at the centre of the government’s message.

The 2027 Budget will be presented by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana on Monday 26 October, marking the first budget of the new legislature following the Labour Party’s victory in the general election held last May.

The government previously indicated that maintaining energy and fuel subsidies will remain a priority amid international economic uncertainty, alongside further support for families and pensioners.

Earlier this month, Caruana also refused to rule out the introduction of new taxes, although he said VAT, income tax, and social security contributions would not be affected.
