Diesel, kerosene to go up by 2c, unleaded and kerosene unchanged

Enemalta Corporation has just announced its monthly revision for fuel prices for July 2010 effective from 1 July 2010. The price of diesel and kerosene will increase by 2 euro cents per litre from €1.04 to €1.06 a litre for diesel and kerosene respectively.

On the other hand, the price of unleaded petrol and Lead Replacement Petrol (LRP) will remain unchanged at €1.22 a litre for unleaded and €1.29 a litre for LRP, Enemalta announced.

The price of gasoil for heating will go down slightly by one euro cent per litre from €0.73 to €0.72 in July.

The price of thin fuel oil, which is mostly used by industry, will increase substantially. TFO 200 as from tomorrow will see its price rise by €19.00 a litre to €544.00, TFO 450 will see its price rise by €23.00 a litre to €532.00, while the price of TFO 900 will increase by €27.00 per litre to €510.00.

The Enemalta statement explained that since January 2010, the euro had weakened from highs of $1.4563 to lows of $1.1875 in June 2010. “Such exchange rate movements have been detrimental to Enemalta’s retail product purchases,” the Corporation claimed.
