Scuffles broke out this morning outside the ID and Citizenship Office in Valletta when a number of immigrants rushed to the door as the department opened for business this morning.

The immigrants, many of whom had queued throughout the night, were seen in a long line.

As a number of Police officers stood guard, some immigrants made a rush to the door in a bid to ensure they were first to be served by Citizenship officers.

At this time, scuffles broke out as Police tried to hold back the rush. At least five men were seen being arrested and taken away handcuffed.

Could someone please tell me how is Malta with so little resources and land area is going to support these thousands of legal and illegal migrants from all over the world. The United States of Americ we are not. Also, when are our politicans from both sizes going to address the growing problem of illegal migration issue. I blame our politicians on this not the illegal migrants as it is our politicians who are keeping illegal migants who land here on our land and not allowing them to go to their final destination.

If there is a God I hope he is seeing what is happening to this tiny rock that he saw fit to send St. Paul to Christianize! So some are proud that we have communities coming according to their flags of over 150 destinations. When I too was an emigrant on a continent that can only be filled by all of Europe I was referred by the locals as a 'Theygo' or 'Displaced Person' and always was considered as such me and all the rest of the emigrants, no one help me and my family, not even the Catholic church. This is my home and thanks to the politicians my little home has been taken by everyone except those with true Maltese blood. No wonder someone said we are 'Cwiec'. Is there a place left for us? all big business has been taken by foreigners, cheap labour is taken by foreigners. Oh I forgot, we can always emigrate if we can. I wonder what St. Paul will say seeing us slowly turning Muslim and losing our identity?
