Eurozone ministers will be meeting again this week after formulating a cash-for-reforms deal that was hailed as a positive step forward. Should the deal be approved, it would be put before the European Council, convening at the end of the week.

The MFSA has revealed that an internal board has been convened to investigate the involvement of Keith Zahra, manager of the Communications Department within the authority, in the finance shadow group.

Energy minister Konrad Mizzi ordered the termination of the engagement of a former police inspector, who had been dismissed from the corps on medical grounds and given a position within Enemalta, all within a four-day period. The decision came after MP Jason Azzopardi brought the case up in parliament.
