Casual elections to be held at Mgarr local council

Labour candidates who contested in the March 2013 local council election for Mgarr now have a chance to get re-elected, after councillor Elizabeth Ebejer resigned

A casual election will be held in order to elect a council member to replace Labour councillor Elizabeth Ebejer, following her resignation.

Ebejer, who became a member of the Mgarr local council after being successful in the local council election held on Saturday 9 March 2013, has recently been appointed new Chief Executive Officer of Teatru Manoel.

Labour candidates who contested in the March 2013 local council election for Mgarr and who were not elected will be able to present their nomination for the casual election.

Candidates will be required to reach 50% of the quota in order to be elected.
