Three donation tins belonging to ALS Malta were stolen from a food stall on Sunday, ALS Malta founder Bjorn Formosa has revealed.

Formosa, an ALS sufferer himself, said that the three tins were stolen from the Mannarinu food stall in Valletta, set up for the Carnival activities.

The organisation is now trying to recover the stolen money.

Because the donation tins carried the organisation’s logo, Formosa also warned the general public to ask for a form of authorisation before making any donations to anyone asking for money in support of ALS Malta.

“Please ask twice if somebody asks you for an ALS donation using the ALS Malta donation tins and without any other form of authorization,” Formosa urged on Facebook.

Anyone who wishes to support ALS Malta can make their donation by sending an SMS to 50618936 for €6.99.
