Gozitan missionary priest Fr Gorg Grima dies, aged 67

Fr Grima started his missionary work in Brasil

Fr Gorg Grima, founder of the Gesu’ fil-Proxxmu missionary movement, passed away this morning, aged 67.

He had recently undergone heart bypass surgery at Mater Dei Hospital.

Fr Grima was born and raised in Gozo. Soon after being ordained to the priesthood, he embarked on missionary work in Brasil.

He founded the Gesu fil-Proxxmu movement which continues to run charity programmes in Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya and Peru.

His funeral will take place on Thursday at 5pm at the St George Basilica in Victoria.
