Naxxar local council not consulted over new 40kmph speed camera

The Naxxar local council has reacted to news of a 40kmph speed camera on St Paul’s street, saying it was not consulted on its installation.

The council said that it wanted the government to stop taking actions without local councils’ consultation.

Earlier in the week, Transport Malta installed a new speed camera on the road connecting Naxxar to the Alla w Ommu road. The local council said this was not the first time that a government authority proceeds without consulting local councils. “Now that the signs for the speed camera have been removed, we consider the action by Transport Malta to have been revoked.”
