In a post on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump says that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire starting tonight

US President Donald Trump said that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire which will begin on Thursday at 11pm.

The statement was made on a Truth Social post, however, no confirmation has been given from Lebanon, Hezbollah, or Israel.

In his post, Trump said that he just had “excellent conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel.”

The BBC confirmed that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had a phone call with Trump on Thursday.

The president added that both countries are set to meet for the first time in 34 years in Washington on Tuesday.

Trump concluded by saying that it has been his honour “to solve nine Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th, so let’s GET IT DONE!”

In a post on X, Aoun thanked Trump for his efforts to reach a ceasefire and secure lasting peace in the area, stating that he wants a ceasefire “at the earliest possible time.”
