No Nestlé products in Malta affected by horsemeat withdrawal

The withdrawal by Nestlé of two chilled pasta products - Buitoni Beef Ravioli and Beef Tortellini - in Italy and Spain and the Lasagne à la Bolognaise Gourmandes - a frozen product for catering businesses- produced in France, does not affect any products in the freezers in Malta.

Nestlé has decided to carry out a precautionary withdrawal in Italy and Spain on the above-mentioned products and suspended deliveries of all products made using beef from a German subcontractor following the discovery of traces of horsemeat DNA in products containing beef made by H. J. Schypke.

However, the indicated products are not commercialised by Nestlé in Malta.

Safety and quality of our products is a non-negotiable priority for Nestlé. On top of Nestlé's routine analytical tests, the company is now testing raw materials for horesemeat.
