Mosta in top form after victory over Floriana

Mosta continued their great form after they won their fourth consecutive match when they defeated Floriana 3-1.

Mosta now move up to third place with Birkirkara who still have a game in hand.

Mosta took the lead early in the first half when they scored the first goal on the ninth minute. Manolito Micallef served Obinna Obiefule who then went on to beat goalkeeper Jonathan Debono with his shot.

On the 13th minute, Mosta doubled their lead thanks to Ferinando Apap who headed the ball in off a corner by Danail Mitev.

Aman Verma came close to scoring on the 39th minute when his shot was cleared off the goal line.

On the 65th minute, Floriana lost another great opportunity to equalise when Sunday Wasiu shot over the net when he was all alone in front of goal.

Mosta were awarded a penalty shot on the 69th minute when goalkeeper Jonathan Debono brought Ousseni Zongo down inside the area. Floriana's Kane Farrugia was also sent off for comments in the direction of referee Marco Borg. From the penalty spot Obinna Obiefule scored to make it 3-0 for Mosta.

Mosta went a player down as well on the 72nd minute when Firas Aboulezz was sent off.

Floriana had another scoring chance cleared off the goal line on the 74th minute when Aman Verma shot towards goal.

Floriana finally found the back of the net on the 83rd minute when Sunday Wasiu beat Justin Haber with his shot.

Danail Mitev was voted BOV Player of the Match.
