The Stripes sit one point ahead of Valletta who have a game in hand.

For Melita the situation does not look like it is getting any better as this was their ninth defeat from twelve matches.

Birkirkara managed to take the lead on the 34th minute. A precise pass by Jhonnattann inside the area to Ryan Camenzuli was enough for the latter to beat goalkeeper Matthew Sapiano with his shot.

The first half ended with Birkirkara leading by one goal.

Five minutes into the second half, Birkirkara made it 2-0. A perfect pass by Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza to Gareth Sciberras was enough for the latter to shoot low past Melita’s goalkeeper.

On the 65th minute, Birkirkara sealed all three points when they made it 3-0.

Zach Muscat passed to Gareth Sciberras who made no mistake with his shot.

Gareth Sciberras was voted BOV Player of the Match.
