Rabat and Birkirkara share the spoils in six goal thriller

Birkirkara lost a great chance to take top spot in the BOV Premier League standings when they played to a 3-3 draw against Rabat Ajax, who sit at the bottom of the table.

Rabat Ajax - Birkirkara 3-3

Rabat had a great start to the match as they scored as early as the fourth minute. Manuel Moral Fuster had his powerful shot beat goalkeeper Ini Etim Aktpan.
Birkirkara started press for the equaliser, but Rabat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff kept the ball out of the net.
The second half started the same way as the first ended with Birkirkara pressing for the equaliser.
Finally on the 60th minute, Birkirkara managed to get back in the match thanks to Ryan Scicluna. Off a cross by Rowen Muscat, Mifsud Triganza served Scicluna who then went on the beat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff with his shot.
Birkirkara then managed to take the lead just nine minutes later. Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza served Jhonnattann Benites da Conceicao to have the latter beat the Rabat goalkeeper with his shot.
It was not over for Rabat as they equalised on the 77th minute. Off a freekick by David Azzopardi, Justin Felice beat goalkeeper Ini Etim Aktpan with his header.
Birkirkara responded six minutes later by regaining the lead. Mifsud Triganza had his shot partially saved by goalkeeper Sean Mintoff and off the rebound, Nikola Vukanac scored from close range.
With two minutes remaining, Birkirkara were close to sealing victory but Rabat spoiled their plans by scoring the equaliser to make the score 3-3. Jose Luis Armario Negrin was the other of the goal as he easily beat the Birkirkara goalkeeper with his shot.
Jhonnattann Benites da Conceicao was voted the BOV Player of the Match.
