Melita defeat Valletta as Tarxien win seven goal thriller against Balzan

Melita managed to score the first goal in stoppage time in the first half. Julian Galea passed to Luke Galea who then dribbled the ball past goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo, to then make no mistake with his shot to give Melita the lead.

Three minutes into the second half Valletta scored the equalizer. Off a corner by Denni, Ian Zammit headed the ball in direction of goal to have Leandro Almeida head the ball in past goalkeeper Guillermo Gabilondo Garcia.

As the match looked to be ending in a draw, Melita scored the winning goal on the 93^rd minute. Jean Pierre Attard found Luke Micallef with his precise pass to have the latter slot the ball in goal to give Melita a 2-1 victory over Valletta.

George Gribbon was voted the BOV Player of the Match.

In the other match of the day Tarxien Rainbows defeated Balzan 4-3 in a thrilling match.

Tarxien took the lead as early as the second minute when off a freekick by Andrezinho, Evaldo Silva dos Santos made no mistake with his shot.

Tarxien made it 2-0 on the tenth minute when Danilo Mera Santos served Andre Reinaldo de Souza Esposito who then dribbled the ball past goalkeeper Fredrick Tabone to then score.

On the 53^rd minute, Balzan pulled one back when off a rebound froma shot by Matthew Mendy, Yessous Camilleri beat goalkeeper David Cassar with his shot to make the score 2-1.

On the 66^th minute, Tarxien made it 3-1 when Daniel Mariano Bueno beat goalkeeper Fredrick Tabone with his shot.

72 minutes into the match, Balzan scored another to make it 3-2. Off a corner by Rodrigo, Elton da Silva headed the ball in goal past goalkeeper David Cassar.

Tarxien replied again on the 83^rd minute to make it 4-2. Daniel Mariano Bueno made no mistake with his powerful shot after being served by Danilo.

Balzan reduced the Tarxien’s lead again on the 90^th minute when Elton Alexandre scored off a freekick by Rodrigo Consani to make the final score 4-3 in Tarxien’s favour.

Daniel Mariano Bueno was voted BOV Player of the Match.
