Floriana and Tarxien share the points as Qormi put four past Hamrun

Tarxien are in fourth place on 28 points while Floriana remain in seventh in the BOV Premier league standings.

Tarxien took the lead four minutes before the first half ended. Off a freekick by Andrezinho, Danilo Merira Santos beat goalkeeper Tony Warner with his shot to give Tarxien the lead.

With both teams continuing to produce scoring opportunities, it would be Floriana who would score the next goal.

On the 79^th minute off a throw in by Carl Tremarco, Owen Bugeja headed the ball in past goalkeeper David Cassar.

Tarxien almost scored the winning goal in the final minutes when Orosco Anonam and Andrezinho came close with their attempts on goal but goalkeeper Tony Warner performed fantastic saves.

Andre Reinaldo de Souza Esposito was voted BOV Player of the Match.

In the other match, Qormi produced a fantastic performance to defeat Hamrun Spartans 4-0.

Hamrun did not start the match in the best of ways as they were reduced to ten-men on the 15^th minute. Goalkeeper Andrea Cassar handled the ball outside the area in an attack by Qormi. Goalkeeper Anthony Curmi replaced Glenn Azzopardi.

Qormi scored the first goal on the 54^th minute. Sebastiano Aurelio Siritto shot was partially saved by Curmi but Edison Bilbao Zarate made no mistake when he headed the ball in goal.

On the 63^rd minute, Qormi doubled the score. Jonathan Bondin served Sebastian Aurelio Siritto and the latter beat goalkeeper Anthony Curmi with his shot.

On the 68^th minute, Joseph Chetcuti served Edison Bilbao Zarate who then beat the Hamrun goalkeeper with his shot.

On the 78^th minute, Qormi made sure they secured all three points when Joseph Chetcuti’s low shot beat goalkeeper Anthony Curmi.

Edison Bilbao Zarate was voted BOV Player of the Match.
