In a match that produced seven goals, Ħamrun Spartans registered a 5-2 win over Mosta.

Ħamrun made a flying start to the match as they went ahead after just two minutes. Lydon Micallef made the most out of a mistake by Ivan Maric by concluding inside the net from close range.

Mosta equalised on the 10th minute. Dexter Xuereb went on the left and sent a shot that gave Steve Sultana no chance.

The Spartans regained the lead on the 15th minute. Following a free-kick by Thiago Espindola, Mauricio Jose Marinho headed past Andreas Vella.

Ħamrun increased the margin of the score on the 34th minute. It was Micallef once more who took advantage of another careless pass inside Mosta’s defence, advanced inside the penalty area, and placed the ball inside the net.

Micallef completed a hat-trick on the 67th minute. The Maltese striker received a pass from Triston Caruana and hit a low shot past Vella.

Mosta reduced the margin of the score on the 77th minute. Substitute Calvin Camilleri fired a shot from inside the penalty area that ended up inside the net.

However, Ħamrun scored again on the 89th minute. Micallef went on the right and delivered a cross in the direction of Siraj Arab who slotted the ball behind Vella.
