Amadou Samb scored three times as Gżira United secured a comfortable 4-0 win over rivals Ħamrun Spartans.

The Maroons went ahead on the 65th minute. Following a free-kick, Andrew Cohen managed to find Samb who finished home from close range.

Gżira made it 2-0 four minutes later. Samb was brought down inside the penalty area by Thiago Espindola de Paula and the referee ordered a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, Samb made no mistake and finished past Steve Sultana.

Darren Abdilla’s side were awarded another penalty on the 78th minute. Samb was fouled by Sultana inside the penalty area and the referee signalled for a penalty. Once more, the Senegalese player managed to convert.

Gżira added another in the additional time. Emmanuel Okoye saw his header ending up inside the net.
