Birkirkara’s disappointing run of results continued with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Sliema Wanderers.

The Wanderers went ahead on the 45th minute. Following a free-kick, Edmond Agius delivered the ball towards Matias Muchardi who finished inside the net.

Sliema increased the margin of the score on the 57th minute. Frenci Qeros served Gabriel Aquilina and the latter saw his close range shot going past Philip Schranz.

John Buttigieg’s side sealed the issue on the 77th minute. Schranz fouled Jefferson de Assis inside the penalty area and the referee signalled towards the spot. From the elven metres mark, de Assis made no mistake.
