Marko Micovic’s side opened the score after thirteen minutes. Alex Da Paixio Alves unleashed a powerful strike that hit the post and bounced back into play. However, the referee judged the ball to have crossed the line and signalled for a goal.

Mosta hit back immediately and equalised three minutes later. Balzan’s defence failed to clear a long ball played inside their penalty area. The ball went into the path of Tyrone Farrugia who slotted it inside the net.

Balzan regained their lead on the 35th minute. Andrija Majdevac delivered the ball towards the unmarked Alves and the latter placed the ball past Andreas Vella from close range.

 Uros Ljubomirac sealed the issue for Balzan on the 50th minute. Milos Lepovic’s cross from a corner was met by the Sebian who headed the ball home.
