St Andrews created the first chance of the match on the 23rd minute. Ricardo Martin’s effort from a free-kick was tipped behind by Ini Etim Akpan.

The Saints went close again on the 36th minute. Following a free-kick, the ball went into the path of Kemar Reid who finished wide from close range.

Floriana replied on the 43rd minute. Ignacio Varela delivered a dangerous cross, but none of his team mates managed to make contact with the ball.

St Andrews lost a golden opportunity on the 68th minute. Reid sent Davis through on goal, but the latter failed to hit the target.

Two minutes later, Reid received the ball from Davis and fired an angled shot that was saved by Akpan.

St Andrews were reduced to ten men on the 90th minute as Andy Brown was sent off after being shown his second yellow card of the match.

However, there wasn’t enough time for Floriana to react as they were held in a goalless draw.
