Hibernians took sole leadership of the BOV Premier League as they secured a 2-0 win over Senglea.

The Paolites forged ahead on the 43rd minute. Johann Bezzina’s powerful shot from distance was blocked by Geza Bence Perger. The rebound went into the path of Taylon Correa Marcolino who placed the ball inside the net.

Hibernians doubled their advantage two minutes later. Taylon Correa’s shot was pushed away by Senglea’s custodian. Tiago Adan Fonseca took the rebound and finished inside the net.

Senglea lost a golden opportunity to pull one back on the 83rd minute. Augustu Rene Caseres was floored inside the penalty area by Andrew Hogg and the referee pointed towards the spot. However, Braian Volpini’s effort from the penalty spot went high.
