World title for Keith ‘the Speed’ Azzopardi

During Gladiators Night XIV kickboxing and boxing fans had another opportunity to see the local talent in action in the respective matches.

Keith ‘the Speed’ Azzopardi, from Team Noel, has won the semi-professional World Kickboxing Network's (WKN) World Title Belt in Kickboxing against Italian Alessandro Fellini. Azzopardi dominated the match as with the first attack landed a powerful spinning back kick on the Italian's stomach.

Fellini ended up on the mat and the referee counted to 10. Azzopardi won the match with a knockout in less than a minute in the first round.

Haitem ‘the Flash’ Laamuz returned in the local professional scene with a win in boxing against an athlete from Serbia.

In the third round, Laamuz brought down the opponent after a hard hit under the ribs and keeping him on the mats. With this knockout, Laamuz won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Balkan Title Belt.

Theon Camilleri, from Browns Boxing, won the World Boxing Union (WBU) amateur Title.

The other athletes who won were Christopher ‘the Wolverine’ Rotin, also from Team Noel, with a unanimous decision against an Italian athlete.

15-year-old Aiden Borg Catania, from Team Noel as well, won his K1 match against a 23-year-old opponent.
