Maltese bowling team excels in Mediterranean Games

Malta secures two gold, one silver and two bronze medals

Malta’s bowling team has registered another successful outing after securing two gold, one silver and two bronze medals during the Mediterranean Games, held in Slovenia.

Sue Abela won the gold in the female women’s singles, silver in the women’s masters and bronze in the All Events category. She also won gold in the women’s doubles with Sara Xuereb.

Mark Spiteri won bronze in the males’ men’s masters.

This success follows the team’s positive showing two weeks ago during the first Small Nations Cup, held in San Marino. The team then won three gold and six bronze medals, as well as the Mixed Team Event after beating Cyprus in the final.

The Maltese bowling team is a volunteer association, supported by SportMalta and government’s parliamentary secretariat.
