Ivory Coast were left fuming after Fabiano's second goal of the game was allowed to stand despite the forward appearing to handle the ball twice in the build-up to his strike.

Sevilla hit-man Fabiano confessed his hand was involved in the second goal, albeit "involuntarily".

"It seems the ball hit my hand and the second time it hit my shoulder. But it was a spectacular goal and I believe it was not a voluntary handball," said Fabiano.

"It was a legitimate goal and it was one of the most beautiful goals that I have scored in my career. I didn't handle the ball voluntarily, it was involuntarily."

Fabiano also explained why he gestured with six fingers while celebrating his first goal in the first half.

"It was because my daughter celebrated her sixth birthday recently and the goal was a dedication to her. I will actually like to dedicate the two goals to my daughter," added Fabiano.

"The two goals were very important for me as I hadn't scored for five games before this one, so things worked out well for me, thank God. But the most important thing is that we won the game and we are all to be congratulated, not only myself and I will also like to dedicate this victory to the Brazilian team as a collective.

"It was a very difficult game that we played against Ivory Coast and pacey, but what was key for Brazil is that we managed to play our own style and dominated the game from the beginning
