GO business lands award by Alcatel-Lucent

Major Maltese telecoms provider GO plc has been recently recognised by Alcatel-Lucent as one of its most customer-focused business partners.

The company said in a statement issued this afternoon that at a meeting held for Alcatel-Lucent business partners from around the world, GO Business had landed one of the four Alcatel-Lucent Awards.

GO Business has won the best-win-against-competition award on grounds of its “continued drive and motivation in strengthening Alcatel-Lucent presence among GO’s business customers”.

GO’s business team, in particular its sales representative, Amanda Abela, was singled out as winner of the award from a large number of communications companies that were in the running for the awards.

GO landed the award after its sales representative “made an excellent job of securing a top notch local key client for Alcatel-Lucent”, the company explained.

The stakeholders of this important local company opted for ALU solutions as their first communications choice “despite stiff competition on all fronts of the telecommunications market”, GO insisted.

Commenting about the award, GO Business Head Kenneth Spiteri said: “We are absolutely delighted that GO has succeeded in landing the award , putting us in league with Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

“An exceptional achievement attained through the willpower and the hard work put in by all members of the GO Business team. The result is proof that GO Business is geared to deliver exceptional solutions to its clients and reach important goals,” he insisted.

He explained how GO plc had a “rich history with Alcatel-Lucent that spanned over twenty years” and had matured into a powerful and exciting business experience that takes took advantage of ALU’ portfolio.

“The catalyst of our mutual relationship was Alcatel-Lucent’s extensive involvement in GO’s submarine cable system linking Malta to Italy. Alcatel-Lucent designed and manufactured the submarine cable system, based on its dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology and cables – with the ability, in future, to be upgraded easily and cost-effectively,” Spiteri added.

The other three Alcatel-Lucent awards were award for best forecast accuracy picked up by Nextira One, award for best commitment to Alcatel-Lucent clinched by Comtel, and award for best supportive partner achieved by Edslan.
