A Midsummer Dream returns to Mdina Cathedral

An evening of music by Cordia String Quartet, tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens and actor Clare Agius, returns to the heart of Mdina this June

An evening of music by Cordia String Quartet, tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens and actor Clare Agius, returns to the heart of Mdina this June. A Midsummer Dream will take over the rarely accessible Aula Capitulare at St Paul’s Cathedral for an exclusive one-night-only concert on 17 June.

Following last year’s sold-out success, the intimate concert experience returns as part of the Mdina Resounds series by Udjenza, inviting audiences into one of Malta’s most atmospheric historic spaces for a celebration of classical music inspired by the beauty of summer.

Under the musical direction of Jacob Portelli, the concert will take audiences through some of classical music’s most beloved works, from Handel’s majestic Music for the Royal Fireworks and Brahms’s Hungarian Dances, to the beauty of Haydn’s Sunrise and the romantic elegance of Dvořák’s waltzes.

The concert promises a unique experience of performance, architectural beauty and immersive atmosphere. Before the performance begins, guests will be invited to explore the Cathedral’s main nave, a rare opportunity to experience the serenity of one of Malta’s most iconic landmarks after hours.

The evening will begin with a welcome drink hosted by the Xara Collection, setting the tone for a refined midsummer experience. Guests may also opt for an exclusive pre-concert guided walking tour of Mdina in English, led by a professional guide.
