Meta experienced a global outage on Friday afternoon, taking Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp offline for thousands users from around 4pm.

Meta has not yet issued a public statement on the outage, and its cause remains unknown. At the time of writing, the company’s status website has not reported any service disruptions. It remains unclear when normal service will be restored.
