Two arrested in Marsa drug bust

Two men are being held under arrest after a police search on their person yielded packets containing a brown substance suspected of being drugs.

A 29-year-old who resides in Birzebbuga, and his passenger, a 44-year-old who resides in Bormla, were stopped by the Rapid Intervention Unit in Triq ix-Xwieni Marsa at around 8:30 pm on Saturday evening.

The car was stopped by the police officers after suspicion arose in the two men.

Apart from the suspected drugs, police said that objects related to the consumption of drugs were also found in the car.

The Paola police station has been informed of the case, and will be carrying out the necessary investigations.
