Woman in critical condition after Ta' Qali accident leaves three people hospitalised

A woman is fighting for her life following a collision between two cars in Ta' Qali that left three people hospitalised.

The accident happened at around 1:30pm in Vjal l-Istadium Nazzjonali.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a Honda Fit, driven by a 51-year-old woman who lives in Mtarfa, collided with a Renault Arkana driven by a 51-year-old man from Marsaskala. An 11-year-old boy was also in the Renault.

Medical teams aided all three victims before they were taken to Mater Dei Hospital. 

The woman was later certified as having sustained serious injuries, while the man suffered grievous injuries. The boy's condition is not yet known. 

Police investigations are still ongoing.
