Three arrested after police seize €160,000 worth of suspected cocaine

In addition to 1.3kg of suspected cocaine, a search of the residences found various items related to drug trafficking, along with a number of mobile phones and jewellery

Three people were arrested in Mosta after police found around 1.3kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €160,000, some already bagged and the rest heaped on a surface.

The individuals were arrested in Mosta after the police had been surveilling the 31-year-old alleged prime suspect who was noticed to be acting suspiciously during the night. The man was often seen leaving a residence in Triq Grognet and an apartment in Triq Rużar Briffa, where the two other suspects, a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were allegedly living.

In addition to the suspected cocaine, a search of the residences found various items related to drug trafficking, along with a number of mobile phones and jewellery.

The arrested persons are being held in lock-up and are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days. 

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D was appointed to conduct the inquiry.

Investigations are still ongoing.
