Updated | Two drown off bay in Marsalforn as search for one of victims continues

Two bathers, believed to be French tourists, drowned off Xwejni Bay in Marsalforn this afternoon.

In a statement, the Police said the incident happened at around 5pm.

Police investigations revealed the individuals in question were a 53-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl.

Three AFM search and rescue units were dispatched to the site where the body of the man was recovered.

Search is ongoing for the girl.

An inquiry has been ordered. Police investigations are ongoing.
