Two persons were this morning reported dead with a 53-year-old man from Birzebbuga recovered at sea in Birzebbuga while the body of a woman was recovered early in the afternoon.

The woman in her mid-thirties was reported missing early this morning and her body was only recovered hours after an AFM search mission was deployed off Dingli Cliffs. The woman was fully clothed and had been in the sea for around 12 hours before being recovered.

The police have also confirmed that there was no foul play in the death of the man found in Birzebbuga. However, the cause of his death will be established once an autopsy is carried out.
