Ivorian charged with aggravated heroin possession
Mumen Traore Trabule, 35, was arrested after a capsule of a brown substance, suspected to be heroin, was found on his person during a spot-check
An Ivorian man was released on bail this morning after he pleaded not guilty to being in possession of heroin in circumstances which denoted that it was not solely for his personal use.
Mumen Traore Trabule, 35, was arrested after a capsule of a brown substance, suspected to be heroin, was found on his person during a spot-check outside the Marsa open centre on Saturday afternoon.
Police Inspector Malcolm Bondin said the police had recovered a capsule containing some 20 grams of heroin together with "a small amount of cannabis".
Trabule was also charged with relapsing and with breaching a previous probation order, which dates back to last November.
Trabule pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras and was granted bail against a deposit of €450 and a €7,000 personal guarantee.
Lawyer Joe Mifsud appeared for the defendant.
