A man was grievously injured in an accident involving a tractor in Bahrija this morning.
Police assistance was requested at about 9:20am in an area known as Ras ir-Raheb. According to police, a 71-year-old Rabat man was hit by a tractor, a Massey Ferguson, while he was working in a field.
The victim is understood to have been operating the tractor shortly before the incident occurred.
The man was conveyed to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance to receive medical treatment.
Duty magistrate Anthony J. Vella has ordered an inquiry into the case.
