Men arrested after burglary tools found in their car

Lock picking tools, balaclavas discovered in suspects’ vehicle

Two men have been arrested after police found tools used to commit burglaries in their car, during a checkpoint inspection.

The two, both Bulgarian nationals, were apprehended after Rapid Intervention Unit police stopped their vehicle - a Hyundai i20 - in Triq Mikiel Anton Vassallo, St Julian’s, at around 12.30pm on Monday.

On searching the car, tools used to break open locks, balaclavas, and other objects were discovered.

The two were arrested on the spot.

Police investigations are ongoing.
