Woman dies after being run over in Qrendi

An 81-year-old woman has died after being run over in Qrendi early Monday morning.

The incident occurred at 8am in Triq it-Tempesta.

Police said the woman was hit by a 30-year-old driving a Volkswagen.

The woman was certified dead at the scene.

Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit has been appointed to the inquiry.

A police investigation is ongoing.
